Job summary

Shambaugh & Son, L.P. is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer to design Fire Protection Systems for various projects. You will layout systems using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and generate hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

The role emphasizes BIM modeling, coordination between trades, and providing fabrication lists. Some projects may require field surveying and collaboration with customers to ensure satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Associate or technical degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Fire protection design experience preferred.
• NICET certification preferred.
• AutoCAD/Revit/HydraCAD experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and layout of Fire Sprinkler systems.
• Read, analyze and interpret contract drawings and specs across disciplines.
• Write, plan, coordinate, and present information to individuals and groups.
• Perform hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis.
• Develop relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction.
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK.
• Create BIM models and field surveys as needed.
• Prepare fabrication lists and coordinate between trades.

Job Summary

Shambaugh is seeking a Fire Sprinkler Designer who will design Fire Protection Systems for all types of projects. You will design layouts using AutoCAD/HydraCAD and create hydraulic calculations and pipe lists for pre-fabrication.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Responsible for designing and the layout of Fire Sprinkler systems
• Read, analyze and interpret contract documents, including all disciplines of construction drawings and specifications
• Write, plan, coordinate, and make presentations to individuals and groups
• Work with and comprehend mathematical concepts including hydraulic calculations and project cost analysis
• Develop positive and ongoing relationships with customers to ensure satisfaction
• Provide fire sprinkler designs with AutoCAD, HydraCAD, and AutoSPRINK
• Responsible for BIM modeling and field surveying
• Provide lists for fabrication and coordinate between the trades
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Associate or Technical Degree in a technical or business discipline preferred or equivalent experience. Examples include: Architectural, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management Degrees
• Fire Protection design experience preferred.
• NICET certification preferred
• AutoCad, Revit, and/or Hydratec Experience preferred
• Valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
• Excellent communicator, self-motivated individual with great organizational skills

• Regular and reliable attendance, including the ability to work extended hours and weekends as required

Geographic Disclosure

Compensation Range: $55,000 - 115,000 annual salary

Other Compensation: Profit Sharing Bonus
