Job summary

General Atomics is seeking a Fire Life Safety Specialist in the San Diego region. You will coordinate and oversee inspections, testing and maintenance of fire protection systems, ensuring compliance with NFPA, IFC/IBC, and local codes.

You will manage vendor relationships, schedule regular testing, and maintain meticulous records for regulatory audits while supporting ongoing safety initiatives across facilities.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent and 5+ years of progressive experience in related facilities/compliance roles.
• Must understand NFPA standards, IFC/IBC codes, and local fire regulations.
• Experience coordinating multiple vendors and managing regulatory inspections is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee third-party vendors for inspections, testing, maintenance and repairs.
• Manage inspection schedules to ensure AHJ and NFPA compliance.
• Review reports, track deficiencies, and verify corrective actions with contractors.
