Job summary

SOCOTEC US in the United States is seeking a Senior Associate to manage field operations staff and perform field inspections to ensure compliance with applicable building, fire, and accessibility codes.

This role, within the SLS division, focuses on life safety and fire protection systems; candidates will design, inspect, and report on egress, smoke control, fire protection components, with opportunities to grow expertise through multiple projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Fire Protection Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
• At least 4 years of experience in fire and life safety system inspection or design.
• Knowledge of NFPA and local fire codes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to various site locations.
• NICET or Fire Protection Inspector Certification, or equivalent, is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage projects with supporting staff.
• Perform detailed inspections of fire and life safety systems.
• Verify compliance with national and local building, fire, and accessibility codes.
• Prepare comprehensive inspection reports with findings and corrective actions.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and authorities to resolve issues.
• Assist in commissioning and testing fire protection systems.
• Maintain inspection records and schedule follow-up visits.
