Syska Hennessy Group in Richmond, VA, seeks a Fire Protection - Fire/Life Safety Engineer IV to join our team at the corporate office. The role involves design engineering, system design support, and coordinating with MEP disciplines on complex projects.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of FP/Fire Alarm experience, strong knowledge of NFPA/ICC codes, and proficiency with AutoCAD-MEP and REVIT. Opportunities include client interfacing and business development involvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Electrical, or Mechanical Eng.
• ≥5 years field experience in FP and Fire/Life Safety consulting.
• Knowledge of ICC, NFPA, and local codes.
• NICET certification in Fire Alarm or Fire Protection (preferred).
• FE registration required; P.E. or Fire Protection considered.
• Willing to travel to various project sites.
• Experience with AutoCAD-MEP and REVIT.

Responsibilities

• Design engineering and provide system design support with MEP coordination.
• Interface with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction.
• Lead CAD staff and participate in business development and proposals.
