Zusammenfassung

The Boring Company in Las Vegas and Nashville seeks a licensed Fire Life Safety Engineer to own the design and stamping of fire protection and life safety systems for Loop tunnel projects. You will develop code-compliant fire and life safety designs for complex underground transit environments and stamp engineering drawings as a Professional Engineer.

Coordinate with internal teams, interface with AHJs, and help scale design standards while focusing on NFPA 502/72/13/14 compliance and EV battery

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or closely related field.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license with ability to stamp drawings (Nevada and/or Tennessee preferred).
• Minimum 5 years designing fire protection and life safety systems with stamping experience.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 502, NFPA 72, NFPA 13/14 and related tunnel codes.

Aufgaben

• Lead design of fire detection, alarm, suppression, standpipe, and emergency communication systems for tunnels and stations.
• Stamp and seal fire protection drawings as a licensed PE.
• Ensure designs comply with NFPA 502 and AHJ requirements and company standards.
• Coordinate with internal teams to integrate life safety systems into tunnel designs.
• Interface with AHJs, fire marshals, and reviewers during design review and permitting.
• Develop and maintain design standards, specifications, and calculation methods for tunnel fire/life safety systems.
• Support system commissioning, performance verification, and field issue resolution.
• Evaluate emerging risks (including EV battery hazards).
• Improve design efficiency, reliability, and constructability as projects scale.
