The Boring Company is seeking a Fire Protection Specialist to support fire and life safety systems across tunneling and transportation infrastructure. You will serve as the responsible technical expert for fire protection systems, ensuring they are designed, installed, inspected, tested, maintained, and compliant with applicable codes.

Qualificações

• Bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection Engineering or related field.
• NICET Level III or IV certification.
• Experience with fire protection systems (alarms or suppression).
• Ability to work onsite in Las Vegas or Nashville.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 502, NFPA 72, NFPA 13/14.

Responsabilidades

• Oversee installation, inspection, testing, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm and suppression systems.
• Ensure all designs comply with NFPA 502 and related codes, local AHJ requirements, and project standards.
• Coordinate with internal engineering, construction, and operations teams to integrate fire/life safety systems into tunnel design and construction packages.
• Interface with AHJs, fire marshals, and third-party reviewers during design review, permitting, and acceptance processes.
• Identify system deficiencies, implement corrective actions, and ensure operational readiness.
• Maintain inspection, testing, maintenance, and compliance documentation.
• Support system commissioning, performance verification, and resolution of design-related field issues.
• Evaluate emerging risks (including EV battery hazards) and apply performance-based design approaches where appropriate.
