Job summary

Fieldlink is seeking a Fire Alarm Project Designer III to design and engineer medium- to large-scale fire alarm systems across the Mid-Atlantic region. The role supports project teams, drafts accurate drawings, and mentors junior staff within a hybrid schedule.

Requires 5–7 years of experience, NICET III with aim for NICET IV, and CAD proficiency (AutoCAD/FireCAD). Travel is less than 5% annually; remote work within the U.S. is supported.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years designing enterprise-level or large-scale fire alarm systems.
• NICET III certification required, with willingness to obtain NICET IV within first months.
• NICET IV certification strongly preferred.
• Proven experience using AutoCAD or FireCAD; FireCAD experience preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with Autodesk Design Review and Bluebeam.

Responsibilities

• Design and engineer medium- to large-scale commercial and enterprise-level fire alarm systems.
• Develop and maintain accurate engineering documentation, drawings, layouts, and system designs.
• Review construction drawings, architectural plans, electrical layouts, diagrams, and project specifications.
• Partner with Project Management to ensure engineering deliverables reflect approved scope.
• Guide and mentor drafters to ensure accurate, complete drawings.
• Support pre-sales by helping scope and estimate cost-effective fire alarm solutions.
• Monitor resources to keep work within budgets and schedules.
• Collaborate with Sales and PM to identify scope changes and seek clarification.
