Job summary

HCI Systems in California is seeking skilled Fire Alarm/Low-Voltage Designers and Senior Designers to design and generate low voltage shop drawings and prepare technical submittals, RFIs and closeout documents.

You will design fire life safety shop drawings for multi-family, high-rise, military, and commercial buildings, coordinating with project teams to ensure accurate, timely submissions while adhering to CAD standards and company protocols.

Qualifications

• Strong AutoCAD knowledge and CAD standards.
• Familiar with CBC, CFC, CMC, CEC/NEC, NFPA 72, UFC and municipal codes for fire alarm systems.
• NICET or RCDD certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft fire life safety and low voltage shop drawings for multi-family, high-rise, military, and commercial buildings.
• Collaborate with Project Managers and Account Executives to finalize submittals promptly.
• Maintain electronic and physical libraries of manuals, data sheets, and templates.
• Apply company and National CAD Standards to drawings.
• Resolve design issues by researching alternatives.
• Coordinate designs with other trades and owners to complete the design.
• Read blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, and product manuals.
• Identify out-of-scope work and design flaws from contract documents.
• Assist with proposed solutions for efficient designs.
• Provide timely responses to design questions and status updates to management.
• Perform document control tasks and take-offs from plans.
• Complete company paperwork as required.
