Job summary

HCI Systems, Inc. is seeking skilled Fire Alarm/Low Voltage/Security Designers to design and generate shop drawings for a wide range of projects in Irvine, CA.

You will prepare submittals, RFIs, and closeout documents, while applying National CAD Standards to ensure compliant, high-quality designs. The role requires strong AutoCAD ability and experience with fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, and intrusion systems, plus excellent communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Experience designing low voltage and security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
• RCDD certification or similar is preferred.
• Strong AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and Bluebeam proficiency.
• Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
• Must be self-motivated with strong organization and follow-up abilities.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft low voltage and security shop drawings, including Fire alarm and life safety systems, Access control, CCTV/VMS, and intrusion systems.
• Prepare submittals, RFIs, calculations, and closeout documents.
• Coordinate with project teams to ensure compliant designs and timely submittals.
• Manage design libraries and project documentation.
• Read blueprints and specifications to identify conflicts and out-of-scope work.
