Job summary

Symons Fire Protection, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Fire Alarm and Low Voltage Systems Designer to produce code-compliant drawings, shop drawings, and submittals for complex commercial and high-rise projects in Southern California.

The ideal candidate will have deep NFPA/NEC knowledge and perform layouts from concept through permitting with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include design coordination with PMs and construction teams, drafting, calculations, and submittal management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• NICET II Certification in Fire Alarm Systems is required.
• Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NEC, IBC/IFC codes.
• Minimum 5 years' fire alarm and low-voltage systems design experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and draft fire alarm and low-voltage system layouts and shop drawings.
• Coordinate with PMs, estimators, field teams, contractors, and clients.
• Prepare submittals and RFIs for AHJ approval and code compliance.
• Perform engineering calculations for power, voltage drop, and circuit loading.
