Job summary

Sinopec Houston Tech in Houston, TX is seeking a Senior Finite Element Software Engineer to develop 3D FEM software that couples solid mechanics and fluid flow for subsurface modeling.

You will work with geoscientists and engineers to implement numerical methods, optimize for HPC, and help create GUI and preprocessing tools in Windows and Linux environments.

Candidates should have Fortran or Python expertise and 5+ years in FEM software, with legal work eligibility in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in CS, SE, Mechanics, or related field with coding.
• 5+ years in FEM software programming and modeling.
• Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically/internationally.

Responsibilities

• Develop innovative FEM software on the in‑house parallel platform.
• Design models and numerical algorithms for geomechanics and reservoir modeling in Windows and Linux.
• Collaborate with GUI developer to build pre/post-processing tools, mesh generation, and GUI.
