Job summary

Siemens AG in the United States is seeking an expert in computational contact mechanics to advance production FEA solutions within Simcenter Optistruct. You will develop and deploy capabilities for implicit and linear analyses, focusing on accuracy, robustness and scalability.

The role requires a PhD in a relevant field, strong FEA experience, and proficiency in Fortran/C/C++. Travel and agile team collaboration are part of the expectations.

Qualifications

• PhD in Applied and/or Computational Mechanics or related engineering field with focus on computational contact mechanics.
• Hands-on experience in large-deformation contact mechanics and implicit nonlinear FEA.
• Strong knowledge of continuum mechanics, PDE/ODE formulations and data structures.
• Ability to design and implement algorithms for computational contact mechanics in Fortran/C/C++.
• Excellent English communication and agile team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy finite element capabilities for Simcenter Optistruct.
• Translate customer requirements into PDE/ODE formulations, algorithms and data structures.
• Collaborate with QA, Support and Documentation to verify implementation and provide examples.
