Job summary

Orrick seeks a Financial Systems Engineer to lead the management and evolution of core financial and practice management systems. The role offers flexibility to be based in any US office, preferably Wheeling, WV, or fully remote within the US.

This senior, hands-on position reports to the Manager of Database Administration and requires deep financial systems expertise, with responsibilities spanning administration, security, job monitoring, and end-user support across finance teams and attorneys.

Qualifications

• Expert-level experience administering, configuring, and supporting enterprise financial systems.
• Solid SQL Server experience including queries, procedures, indexing, and reporting.
• Windows Server, IIS, PowerShell, and Active Directory administration.
• Familiarity with REST APIs and ETL integrations.
• Ability to work with Finance/Accounting and IT stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize the firm’s financial systems across core modules like billing, GL, AP/expense, and time entry.
• Maintain security and access controls, data governance.
• Monitor jobs, interfaces, and system health; coordinate recovery or permanent fixes.
• Provide advanced technical and functional support to end users, resolving issues through tickets.
