Summary: The Senior Financial Reporting Data Analyst provides avenues for management to make important decisions through detecting trends, creating reports, and communicating them. Helps the Contracting and Operations department during negotiations by determining impacts under different scenarios. Be involved with Data Analyst (DA) team in support of financial operations through the development, programming, maintenance, and organization of the automated extraction of data from various sources. The ideal candidate should have experience working with large data sets, identifying data schematics to determine source appropriateness, and understanding contract rates, financial statements, and accounting entries. The candidate must complete additional assignments and projects as required and be a key supporting resource for Sr. Finance Supervisor, Finance Manager, Director of Finance, VP Finance/Corporate Controller, CFO, or other team members.

Job Description:

• Design and improve upon existing reporting requirements for all clients’ financial performance by segments using ERP software and reports from operational systems.
• Analyze reports to identify changes and key trends; communicate findings effectively to finance and management teams.
• Utilize Power BI to develop additional financial performance reports and streamline views of key cost areas for departments and clients.
• Collaborate with Contracting and Operations to design, build, and maintain contract rate tables in SQL; develop automated reconciliation processes.
• Support health plan negotiations by assessing financial impacts of different scenarios.
• Build and maintain databases, perform updates, and ensure data accuracy.
• Examine data reports regularly, troubleshoot issues, and work with teams to resolve them.
• Identify areas for business process improvement and assist in automating data-entry tasks.
• Prepare ad-hoc reports as needed for leadership and clients.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Financial or Business Analysis.
• 5+ years of experience in Physician Organization, Health Plan, Hospital Finance, or related fields.
• Understanding of provider and health plan contracting, risk delineation, medical terminology, and reimbursement methodologies; knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, DRG, ICD-9, ICD-10, NDC coding is a plus.
• Proficiency in MS Excel (VBA, macros, Pivot tables, lookups, Power Pivot) and MS Access.
• Experience with SQL Server, Power Query (ETL), SSIS, and strong Crystal/SQL skills.
• Familiarity with Sage100, EZ-Cap, Power BI, and Tableau is advantageous.
