Job summary

Empower Retirement is seeking a Financial Reporting Senior Analyst in Denver, CO or Boston, MA to bolster external and regulatory reporting with strong financial analysis. You will examine results, benchmark trends, and prepare disclosures for filings under U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and statutory principles.

You will collaborate across Finance, Tax, Legal, Compliance and Operations, leveraging Excel and SAP to drive accuracy, efficiency and SOX controls while supporting audits and capital calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of accounting, financial reporting, regulatory reporting, or related experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP; familiarity with IFRS and Statutory Accounting Principles.

Responsibilities

• Analyze financial results, trends, and variances; research drivers and communicate findings clearly.
• Prepare annual and interim financial statements, disclosures, and schedules for consolidated company and subsidiaries.
• Prepare financial reporting workpapers, reconciliations, variance analyses, and other analytical support for financial, regulatory, tax, and audit deliverables.
• Identify and investigate financial and regulatory reporting issues, unusual transactions, data inconsistencies, and reconciliation differences; escalate when needed.
• Prepare and analyze financial information under U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and Statutory Accounting Principles as applicable.
• Support regulatory capital calculations and regulatory reporting and filings.
• Assist annual and interim external audits and SOX-related controls.
• Partner across Finance, Tax, Legal, Compliance, Operations, and business teams to analyze reporting matters and deliver key outputs.
• Utilize analytical tools, process improvements and automation to enhance quality, efficiency and insight in financial reporting.
