Job summary

Symetra is seeking a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to join the Investment Accounting and Reporting team. You will oversee GAAP and Statutory reporting, manage month-end close, and ensure accurate financial disclosures.

You will work with auditors, service providers, and cross-functional teams to maintain high-quality financial statements and robust controls while supporting diverse investment portfolios and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
• Master's degree, MBA, or CPA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in monthly, quarterly, and annual close and reporting cycles.
• Prepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
• Support GAAP and Statutory financial reporting and disclosures.
• Collaborate with reporting teams and external parties to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes and strengthen controls.
