Job summary

Symetra is seeking an Investment Reporting Analyst to support its Investment Reporting Team with recurring reports, valuation support, and portfolio analytics. The role emphasizes learning and growth in BI tools, data-driven analysis, and collaboration with Investments, Finance, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, statistics, MIS, data science or CS.
• 0-3 years of relevant experience (internships, academic projects, or coursework welcome).
• Exposure to investment concepts, financial reporting, or data analysis.
• Prior experience in reporting, alternative investments and/or investment valuation is helpful, but not required.
• Experience using SimCorp Dimension and/or Clearwater accounting system; PowerBI, SQL, stored procedures, relational databases, and/or data warehousing/marts as bonus skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare recurring investment reports with guidance from senior team members, including monthly portfolio summaries and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
• Support reporting for alternative and private market assets, including data gathering, checks, and components of recurring reporting packages.
• Assist with the valuation process, including validations, reconciliation of market and pricing data, and reviewing inputs for alternative and fixed income assets after training.
• Support performance reconciliations, data collection and help maintain pricing and market data accuracy across investment systems.
• Contribute to enhancements of existing reports and support development of new tools as skills grow.
• Collaborate with Investments, Finance, and Operations to gather information for reporting and analysis.
• Learn and use Excel, PowerBI, and SQL to improve reporting efficiency and reduce manual effort.
• Help maintain procedural documentation for reporting and valuation workflows.
