Job summary

Cornell University seeks an Accounts Representative V to manage diverse funds and provide financial services across departments, ensuring strong internal controls and audit readiness. The role supports 4-H Youth Development and NYC extension programs, delivering guidance to faculty, staff, and students and resolving complex financial issues.

The position is full-time, hybrid, based on the Ithaca campus, with a pay range of $29.45–$32.90 per hour. VISA sponsorship and relocation are not provided.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in business, finance, or related field with 4–6 years of experience or equivalent combination.
• Must be friendly, outgoing, able to work in an office with many interruptions, and have a strong customer service orientation.
• PC proficiency using Excel, Word, Kuali Financial System (KFS) or similar software, and mainframe applications; able to retrieve and manipulate data from multiple sources.
• Must demonstrate ability to handle sensitive and confidential data with discretion.
• The ability to multitask and work within tight deadlines is required.
• Strong analytical, logic, organizational and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must be able to prioritize and manage multiple projects of varying complexity and urgency.
• Requires ability to construct complex financial statements understanding inter-relationships of data.
• Must possess excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to cultivate and develop inclusive working relationships with students, faculty, staff, and community members.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive financial services in support of departmental operations and funds management.
• Oversee procurement, student appointments, and internal controls to ensure compliance and audit readiness.
• Provide financial guidance to faculty, researchers, staff, and students; perform proactive and retroactive financial analysis.
