Job summary

M.C. Dean, Inc. is seeking an experienced finance professional to join the SES business unit in Tysons Corner, VA. You will manage finances, accounting, and contract compliance for large projects, collaborating with project leadership to ensure accurate cost and revenue reporting.

The role requires 8+ years of relevant experience, construction industry exposure, and strong Excel skills. Expect detailed budgeting, month-end closes, and timely billing across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience in finance or accounting.
• 2+ years of construction industry experience.
• Experience in construction project estimating.
• Experience with Schedule of Values (SOV) invoicing to General Contractors.
• Knowledge of general accounting principles.
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Attention to detail; strong organization and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage finances, accounting, and contract compliance for large multi-year projects and programs.
• Validate estimated project costs to complete with Project Leadership.
• Translate scope and schedule changes into budget updates and cost projections.
• Lead performance reviews with project teams to understand status and costs.
• Assist with cost, pricing, and change orders to verify accuracy and contractual compliance.
• Ensure accurate and timely monthly billing submissions.
• Help establish Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) at award and maintain it.
• Prepare 36-month revenue and gross profit projections quarterly for assigned projects.
• Support month-end processing and reporting; present results in Monthly Operational Unit Financial Review.
• Produce ad-hoc reporting for project managers and executives.
