Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Leader to serve as the primary financial partner for a manufacturing plant, supporting the Site Leader and plant leadership team. This role is responsible for managing plant financial performance, budgets, forecasting, accounting, capital projects, and overall financial strategy.

The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting and financial analysis experience, with the ability to partner closely with plant leadership and translate financial data into actionable business insights.

What You’ll Do

• Serve as the primary financial point of contact for the plant, corporate finance teams, and plant leadership
• Partner with the Site Leader and staff as the plant’s financial leader
• Manage annual budgets, period profit estimates, forecasting, and financial performance analysis
• Review financial records to ensure accuracy, compliance, and alignment with company policies
• Lead period, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal approvals, reviews, financial analysis, and period recaps
• Prepare financial reports for leadership and federal, state, and local agencies
• Analyze trends, discrepancies, business activity, and opportunities to improve financial performance
• Develop cost estimates for new products and packaging changes and analyze pricing and outside sales quotes
• Evaluate new business opportunities to determine financial viability and alignment with company strategy
• Analyze capital projects to ensure they meet company requirements and financial expectations
• Manage and safeguard company assets while reviewing and approving expenditures
• Identify opportunities to minimize excessive spending, waste, and financial risk
• Work across multiple accounting systems and interfaces and troubleshoot related issues
• Supervise and coach office staff, including workload management, performance reviews, and development
• Partner with plant leadership to support Safety, Quality, Reliability, and overall operational performance
• Support food safety and quality principles and all applicable regulatory requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively with cross-functional teams
• Ability to understand and communicate complex financial information
