Job summary

Westfield Specialty Insurance seeks an experienced production Underwriter for our Financial Institutions Retail team in New York, NY. The role focuses on pursuing new business, servicing renewals, and delivering underwriting solutions for broker partners while upholding high underwriting care.

You will work with retail brokers nationwide, focusing on the New York region, and will build a profitable portfolio across Private Equity Funds, Hedge Funds, Banks, and other financial institution risks.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of Financial Lines and/or D&O underwriting experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of Financial Lines products and underwriting practices.
• Bachelor's degree required, finance-related coursework preferred.
• Solid writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal business in accordance with guidelines, authority levels, and underwriting standards.
• Analyze risk exposures, pricing adequacy, and coverage structures to drive profitable decisions.
• Build and maintain relationships with brokers and clients to support retention and growth.
• Travel as required to support business development and relationship management.
