Municipal Credit Union in New York seeks a Senior Internal Fraud Investigator to lead complex financial crime investigations using intelligence and data analysis. This regular full-time, hybrid role focuses on preventing fraud, reducing losses, and strengthening controls.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in financial crimes, experience with fraud detection systems (Verafin preferred), and relevant certifications.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or associate degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Accounting, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Five to seven years of financial crimes investigation experience in the private or public sector.
Complete annual BSA/AML, fraud, and cybersecurity training.
Industry certification (CFE, CFCS, CAMS) preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

Investigate a wide range of fraud typologies and emerging financial crime threats.
Review data and logs to identify irregularities and policy violations.
Conduct confidential investigations into suspected internal fraud and related misconduct.
Prepare thorough investigative reports with findings, evidence and outcomes.
Collaborate with law enforcement and financial institutions to share intelligence.
