Job summary

Oliver James Group is seeking a Lead Financial Controls Analyst - Insurance to join our client’s growing controls team. The role focuses on strengthening the ICFR control environment, supporting regulatory compliance, and driving process improvements across Accounting and Finance.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years in internal or external audit or financial controls, with MAR/SOX experience and a preference for Life Insurance exposure.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years of experience in Internal Audit, External Audit, Financial Controls, SOX/MAR Compliance, Risk Advisory, or related functions.
• Strong understanding of ICFR, control design, testing, documentation, and remediation.
• Experience with MAR, SOX or similar regulatory frameworks.
• Insurance industry experience preferred, Life Insurance a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support ICFR control documentation, testing, assessment, and continuous improvements.
• Support MAR and SOX compliance activities including control evaluations, documentation, testing, and remediation.
• Evaluate existing financial processes to identify risks and recommend improvements to strengthen controls.
• Collaborate with Accounting, Finance and senior stakeholders to ensure effective control design and operating effectiveness.
• Provide guidance on control frameworks, regulatory requirements, and best practices for financial reporting.
• Research regulatory developments and complex transactions to assess impacts on internal controls.
• Assist with regulatory reporting and documentation to ensure compliance.
