Oliver James Group is seeking a Deputy Chief Financial Officer for a remote role with West Coast preference. The position leads financial reporting, governance, and large-scale finance transformations across multiple entities.

The ideal candidate has 12+ years in life/annuity insurance finance, deep US GAAP and STAT expertise, and a proven track record in post-merger integrations and capital management.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of progressive finance leadership experience in life/annuity insurance/reinsurance.
• Deep expertise in US GAAP and STAT reporting and regulatory frameworks.
• Proven track record in large-scale finance transformation, system implementations, and post-merger integrations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA, CA, or equivalent designation required.

Responsibilities

• Direct US GAAP, STAT, and management reporting across expanding entities with strong internal controls and audit readiness.
• Build, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance team with clear reporting structures across accounting, operations, and technical reporting.
• Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to drive financial strategy, capital management, and balance sheet alignment.
• Spearhead finance transformation initiatives including ERP upgrades, operating model shifts, and accounting standard updates.
• Oversee financial onboarding, process alignment, and reporting integration of acquired platforms and portfolios.
