Job summary

Jobot is seeking a dynamic Permanent Controller for our HVAC client in Houston. The role oversees all financial management, regulatory reporting, budgets, and controls, with leadership of the accounting team. Excellent knowledge of GAAP and cash flow management is essential.

The position offers competitive salary, annual bonus potential, full benefits, PTO and sick pay. Candidates with 5+ years in senior accounting roles and a CPA/CMA are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience in a senior role.
• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller in the construction industry.
• Advanced degree in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA or CMA preferred.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
• Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
• Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
• Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
• Research technical accounting issues for compliance.
• Support month-end and year-end close process.
• Ensure quality control over financial transactions and reporting.
• Manage compliance with local, state, and federal reporting and tax filings.
• Develop and document business processes and internal controls.
