Job summary

Platform Accounting Group seeks a highly motivated Financial Controller to lead technical accounting and financial reporting within our growing professional services firm. You will manage the general ledger, oversee month-end and year-end close, and ensure GAAP compliance across reporting and controls.

You will collaborate with business leaders, develop dashboards, and drive efficiencies through automation and policy improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
• Experience managing general ledger accounting and month-end close processes.
• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with stakeholders at all levels.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting/ERP systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee general ledger accounting activities, including reconciliations, journal entries, month-end and year-end close processes.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
• Research, document, and implement accounting treatment for complex or non-routine transactions.
• Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and schedules.
• Support external audits and coordinate requests from auditors and regulators.
• Maintain strong internal controls and identify opportunities for process improvements.
• Prepare and communicate financial analyses, trends, and KPIs to management.
• Partner with operational leaders to provide accounting guidance and financial insights.
