Qualifications

• Basic requirement: degree in accounting or related field with 24 semester hours in accounting.
• Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years accounting experience with one of (a) 24 sem. hours in accounting, (b) CPA or CIA certification, or (c) substantial accounting coursework.
• Time-in-grade requirements: one year at GS-12 to qualify for GS-13.
• Submit transcripts or certificates as required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and conduct complex financial audits or forensic investigations.
• Analyze large sets of financial data to trace transactions and identify unusual activity.
• Reconstruct incomplete financial records and examine systems to determine fund usage.
• Prepare detailed audit or investigative reports and present findings to attorneys and management.
