Senior Financial Analyst - Strategic Finance

We're seeking a Senior Financial Analyst with deep modeling experience to join our growing team. Reporting to the VP of Finance & Operations, you'll execute key financial analyses and day-to-day activities that inform our planning and forecasting processes. You'll also collaborate with cross-functional partners to drive data-informed business decisions.

Our ideal candidate is highly motivated, analytical, and curious. A team player and confident business partner, capable of driving action cross-functionally and outstanding at analyzing data and producing actionable insights. This person is comfortable operating on a small team with a high bar for operational excellence.

You likely bring a combination of investment banking experience, with additional time at early-stage startups being a strong plus.

This role will be based in our NYC Headquarters with a 3-in/2-out hybrid schedule.

Core Responsibilities
Strategic Finance
  • Execute on the financial analysis needed to support Clair’s strategy
  • Build and maintain unit economics models for existing business lines
  • Prepare financial materials to support fundraising efforts
  • Analyze data to evaluate market opportunities and partnerships
  • Execute and maintain financial models, forecasts, and budgets on a day-to-day basis
  • Perform detailed variance analysis and provide inputs to support strategic planning
  • Assist in the budgeting process by preparing detailed, bottoms-up annual budgets and monthly rolling forecasts
  • Prepare materials for monthly financial review meetings and support discussions with cross-functional partners
Financial Modeling and Reporting
  • Support month-end close and reporting processes, working closely with accounting to ensure data accuracy
  • Compile insights and commentary on company results relative to plan/forecast
  • Create detailed financial analyses and data for KPI dashboards
  • Support quarterly business reviews with Clair’s partners by preparing unit economics and growth metrics analyses
  • Build scenario models to assess impact on company financial performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work with cross-functional teams (Partnerships, Operations, Marketing, Product, etc.) to gather data on key initiatives
  • Analyze resource allocation and provide inputs
  • Build positive working relationships with G&A partners to facilitate data collection and insights
  • Develop understanding of business drivers to ensure your analyses align with company objectives
Process Improvement & Automation
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in day-to-day financial operations
  • Execute on initiatives to reduce inefficiencies and improve operational excellence
  • Build and maintain automated reporting for routine financial tasks
  • Support the implementation of financial systems by ensuring data integrity and accuracy
Required Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in investment banking
  • Additional experience at early-stage startups preferred but not required, especially fintech/software/SaaS organizations
  • Strong financial modeling skills with understanding of forecasting methodologies
  • Proficiency in Excel, Google Suite, SQL, and financial planning tools (e.g., Pigment, Anaplan, Planful)
  • Experience building and maintaining detailed financial and operating models
  • Understanding of unit economics and business models
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with solid communication abilities
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Team player mentality, with a "no task is too small" attitude

Location: This is a hybrid position based out of New York City, you will be expected to come into the office at least three days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays, & Thursdays) with additional days on occasion for client meetings.

Compensation:The annual base salary for this role is $139,000-$143,000. The base pay for this role is determined using many factors, such as education, skills and experience and is reflective of Clair Series stage and size. Base pay is only one part of Clair’s competitive total compensation package which includes equity, benefits and additional perks. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.
