As a member of this team, you’ll partner with other areas of the business, providing financial analysis for decision-making purposes. We’ll rely on you to report, plan and evaluate our financial results, as well as ensure our financial transactions and reports are timely, accurate and efficient. In short, you’ll help drive our exceptional financial performance.

Sr. Financial Analyst - Operations/Cost Accountant

Position Overview:

As the Sr. Financial Analyst – Operations/Cost Accountant at our Holton Kansas facility, you’ll have the chance to collaborate closely with our facility leadership teams in both Holton, KS and Watertown, WI. Our leadership teams are all about member development, manufacturing excellence, and continuous improvement. We’re looking for someone who can bring their product costing expertise and leadership skills to the table, helping to spot key financial opportunities and lead impactful improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with all levels at the plant, including the core leadership team, team leaders and operations members
  • Live the Johnsonville Way by getting everyone involved to meet business goals; be a role model and coach to help them succeed
  • Turn data into valuable insights; help explain the "what" (the facts), "why" (the drivers and trends), "so what" (ask thoughtful questions and use relationships to drive improvement), and "what’s next" (next steps)
  • Help create simple, clear dashboards and turn numbers into a meaningful message; connect that message to themes people can easily relate to and understand.
  • Help with forecasting and the annual budgeting process for the Holton and Watertown plants and ensure that the facility processes are streamlined and align with overall company processes
  • Assist in ensuring that the facility cost savings pipelines meet expectations for current and future years
  • Partner with the Multi-Site Plant Controller to assess new business opportunities; help provide insights on proposed capital projects (like IRR, cost savings, and post-mortems) and productivity projects (focused on continuous improvement).
  • Identify best practices and collaborate with the Multi-Site Plant Controller to roll them out across the network
  • Support the development of procedures and controls to ensure accurate product costs and reliable inventory management

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • CMA is a plus

Experience:

  • Five (5) years of cost accounting and analytics experience required
  • Analytical experience in a manufacturing, food or consumer packaged goods environment, strongly preferred
  • Experience working with and/or creating meaningful operational reports and guiding operations members on how to understand and use financial data
  • Leadership experience is a plus

Skills and Competencies:

  • Great at communicating and making financial information easy to understand
  • Strong computer skills (Intermediate Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), and if you've worked with SAP, that's a plus!
  • Skilled at analyzing data, spotting trends, and coming up with action plans or recommendations

Member Status: Full Time, Salaried

Travel: Not a ton, less than 10% of your time
