Job summary

City of Austin seeks a seasoned financial analyst to develop reports, models, and forecasts for the City’s revenue and budgets. You will lead budgeting processes, analyze variances, and provide recommendations to management.

You will also study debt issuance timing, rating agency materials, and debt service requirements while supporting CIP projects and related financial systems. The role requires strong Excel and BI skills, regulatory knowledge, and experience in public finance.

Qualifications

• Master's degree may substitute for 2 years' experience.
• CPA designation may substitute for 1 year experience.
• Experience in real estate development, brokerage or underwriting is preferred.
• Knowledge of utility ratemaking and cost of service study methodology.

Responsibilities

• Develops and prepares reports, analyses, and models for revenue and economic forecasts and budgets.
• Performs budget analysis and monitors budget by preparing/ reviewing current year estimates and variances.
• Develops debt issuances analyses and monitors debt service schedules.
• Provides financial support and monitors CIP projects; processes task orders in financial systems.
