Job summary

Great American Insurance Group in Windsor, CT is seeking a Financial Analyst/Senior Financial Analyst to join the Fidelity/Crime division. The role focuses on analyses to support strategy, budgeting, and performance measurement.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in financial analysis within property and casualty, advanced Excel skills, and strong communication abilities. On-site four days a week with one remote day, in-office Tue-Thu.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
• 10+ years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, or related analytical role.
• Property & Casualty insurance industry experience preferred.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Strong communication and presentation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Completes financial, business, and operational analyses to support divisional strategy, planning, and decision-making.
• Supports annual budgets, forecasts, and long-term financial plans for the Fidelity & Crime Division.
• Performs quarterly forecasting by analyzing actual results, trends and business drivers.
• Prepares monthly and quarterly management reporting, including financial performance, premium, losses, expenses, profitability, and KPI's.
• Performs variance analysis and develops explanations of financial results for divisional management.
• Analyzes premium, loss, expense, profitability, and portfolio data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Develops and maintains financial reporting tools, dashboards, and analytical models.
• Partners with Underwriting, Claims and Senior Management to understand results and identify opportunities for improved performance.
• Provides recurring and ad hoc financial analyses to support decisions and initiatives.
• Identifies opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting methodologies, and data quality.
• Helps implement reporting solutions that improve accuracy and accessibility of financial information.
• Communicates results clearly to stakeholders.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
