Job summary

Kinetico Incorporated in Newbury, OH, seeks a Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to provide insights that support strategic decisions and drive data accuracy. You will partner with business units, lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, and mentor junior analysts while driving process improvements.

The role requires 5+ years of financial analysis experience, strong Excel and ERP/BI skills, GAAP knowledge, and the ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations for senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • 5+ years of relevant financial analysis experience
  • Master’s degree or professional certifications (CPA, CMA, CFA) preferred
  • Experience in a medium-to-large multinational manufacturing company preferred
  • Public Accounting experience preferred
  • Knowledge of JD Edwards ERP and ReportsNow (or similar ERP/reporting tools)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, accounting standards, and business operations
  • Advanced Excel skills with pivot tables and complex formulas
  • Proficiency with financial modeling tools and techniques
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, Power BI, or Tableau
  • Experience with Data Warehouse environments and data querying tools
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Experience mentoring financial analysts
  • Ability to influence decision-making and drive process improvements

Responsibilities

  • Finance business partner for specific business units to improve financial performance
  • Mentor and develop Financial Analysts
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide actionable insights
  • Evaluate and improve financial processes for data collection and reporting
  • Support FP&A Director on value-adding opportunities and strategic analysis
  • Deliver standardized analytical tools to enhance decision-making
  • Support data reporting and budgeting processes
  • Coordinate monthly segment reports (actuals, budget, forecast) and optimize reporting pipelines
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, IT, R&D to gather data for analysis
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and provide proactive recommendations
  • Provide direction and review of Analysts’ work

Job Description

The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A provides valuable insights to support strategic business decision-making by leveraging advanced analytical skills, financial expertise, and technological proficiency to enhance data accuracy, optimize existing processes, and deliver clear, concise insights and recommendations to key business leaders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operates as the finance business partner for specific business units, to drive improved financial performance and decision-making.
  • Manages and develops Financial Analysts by setting clear performance expectations, measuring results, fostering engagement, and addressing employee relations matters as needed.
  • Conducts thorough analysis of financial data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvements. Interpret complex financial information to provide insight and actionable recommendations to enhance revenue growth.
  • Evaluates existing financial processes and recommends improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
  • Supports Director, FP&A on opportunities to improve shareholder value, including integration, benchmarking, and strategic analysis.
  • Supports the delivery of standardized analytical tools that enhance management information and decision-making capabilities.
  • Leverages digital transformation for data reporting and analytical information delivery for the segment, including support for business modeling, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
  • Oversee the coordination and review of monthly segment financial reports (actuals, budget, forecast). Identifies future system capabilities to automate and reduce the time required for their creation if sublevel reports are necessary.
  • Works closely with Sales, Marketing, IT, R&D and other teams to gather relevant data and insight into comprehensive business analysis, implementation of analytical solutions, and ensure data integrity.
  • Identifies financial risks and opportunities, provides proactive recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Provides direction, mentorship, and review of work produced by Financial Analysts to ensure accuracy, development, and high-quality deliverables.

Education & Qualifications

What you will need to succeed:

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
  • Required: 5+ years of relevant financial analysis experience
  • Preference: Master’s degree or professional certifications such as CPA, CMA, or CFA
  • Preference: Previous experience in a medium-to-large multinational manufacturing company
  • Preference: Public Accounting experience
  • Preference: Knowledge of JD Edwards ERP and ReportsNow (or similar ERP/reporting tools)
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, GAAP, accounting standards, and business operations; ability to apply financial, economic, and investment concepts.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data manipulation.
  • Proficiency with financial modeling tools and techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency with data analysis tools and software such as Excel, SQL, ReportsNow, Power BI, or Tableau.
  • Experience working with Data Warehouse environments and data querying tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and synthesize complex financial and operational data.
  • Strong planning, prioritization, and organizational skills.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to identify risks, opportunities, and value-creation initiatives.
  • Ability to support continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting, and data integrity.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information for both financial and non-financial audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, senior leadership, and business partners.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor, guide, and support the development of Financial Analysts.
