Job summary

City of Houston is seeking a Financial Analyst IV to provide advanced financial analysis and strategic support to the Financial Management Services Fixed Assets team. You will serve as a key advisor to leadership by delivering strategic performance analysis across all fixed asset activities.

You will investigate WIP and asset capitalization in SAP, prepare journal entries, and assist with monthly/annual KPI reporting and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or closely related field required.
• Four (4) years of professional experience in finance, economics, budget analysis or closely related field required.
• Master's degree may substitute for two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Investigate Fixed Asset WIP and capitalization processes; coordinate with Project Managers; ensure correct reporting and audits.
• Prepare documents for asset audit selections and journal entries as needed.
• Analyze complex operational reports; explain fluctuations and provide strategic recommendations to management.
• Coordinate monthly and annual KPI reports and strategic plans for assigned areas.
• Direct and conduct ad hoc information requests; report findings to senior management.
