Job summary

Duke Energy in Indiana seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to manage day-to-day cost management, accounting and financial analysis for the Regulated & Renewable Energy Midwest organization. You will oversee O&M and capital spend around $400M, provide regulatory and GAAP reporting, and collaborate with leaders across the organization to improve reporting and processes.

The role requires strong leadership, communication and teamwork, with a hybrid work model after onboarding and potential on-site

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Economics or similar with related work experience.
• Must have 3+ years (6+ desired) of progressively complex experience in related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide and present accurate and relevant financial analysis and management reporting to senior management to enable strategic decision-making.
• Analyze and consolidate management financial reporting including actuals, budgets and forecasting with variance explanations.
• Analyze data, identify and correct errors to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial information.
• Coordinate and support the month-end close activities.
• Prepare, check and/or post journal entries and accruals as needed.
• Assist in governmental filings (quarterly/annual FERC, rate case support, claims).
• Coordinate with internal & external auditors; support SOX documentation and testing.
• Maintain knowledge of accounting policies and GAAP implications.
