Job summary

This job is responsible for leading, coordinating, and participating in financial analysis, accounting, forecasting, and reporting activities. Independently organizes and manages both special projects and a routine workload. Leads, trains, and reviews work of assigned departmental staff, acting as a trainer and resource, as well as a guide in their professional development. Serves as a direct resource to operational management on financial analysis and regulations.

Education

Required - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Math, Business Administration, or Computer Science or related area.

Preferred - Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or related field.

Work Experience

Required - 3 years of experience in healthcare finance or related field, including two years with project responsibilities, managing multiple tasks under deadlines, often in high-pressure settings, and working independently.

Certifications

Preferred - Certification as a Public Accountant or actively testing for certification.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Proficiency with Windows applications and data entry/retrieval skills.
  • Effective communication skills, capable of presenting information clearly to various audiences.
  • Strong leadership skills.

Job Duties

  • Supervise team's special projects as assigned for financial reporting.
  • Review monthly financial statements, identify trends, and recommend actions.
  • Create and monitor surveys, reports, and project logs.
  • Communicate findings to team and leadership, ensure quality assurance, and implement quality improvement measures.
  • Support departmental goals and participate in professional development activities.
  • Perform other related duties as needed.

Other responsibilities include ensuring compliance with applicable laws and standards, maintaining confidentiality, and adhering to ethical standards.

Physical and Environmental Demands

Medium work involving exertion of 20-50 pounds occasionally, and/or 10-25 pounds frequently. Must be able to sit for prolonged periods, stoop, bend, reach, and have manual dexterity. No exposure to blood or infectious materials is expected.

Work within a healthcare setting may involve exposure to hazardous materials, depending on specific duties.
