The Budget Office at the State University of New York (SUNY)Oneonta seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to serve as a senior analytical resource within the Budget Office. Reporting to the Director of University Budget & Financial Planning, the position plays a key role in supporting the University's financial operations, planning efforts, and process improvement initiatives through data-driven analysis and strategic decision support.
The successful candidate will provide advanced financial analysis and decision-support services to University leadership and will be responsible for monitoring and analyzing budget activity across all University funds. This position independently identifies financial trends, investigates discrepancies, develops recommendations, and supports institutional planning, resource allocation, and long-term fiscal sustainability. The incumbent will also lead and support process improvement initiatives, workflow enhancements, and reporting solutions that increase operational efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and reduce duplicate data entry.
The Budget Office provides leadership and support for the University's budget planning, monitoring, financial reporting, and resource allocation functions. The office develops and administers budgets across University funds, including the State Core Operating Budget (Revenue Offset), Dormitory Income Fund Reimbursable (DIFR), General Income Fund Reimbursable (IFR), Summer Session, and Tuition Overflow (SUTRA). The office works closely with SUNY System Administration, campus leadership, and affiliated organizations to support strategic planning, informed decision-making, and long-term fiscal sustainability.
