Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models for forecasts, capital allocation, and asset-level economics in agricultural operations.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting, board presentations, and investor materials for executives and investors.
  • Conduct budget-to-actual analysis for farming operations, production, and G&A, identifying drivers of variances.
  • Develop forecasts, scenario analyses, and sensitivity models to support strategic decisions.
  • Monitor lender covenants and support credit facilities and financing communications.
  • Model outcomes for acquisitions, asset transactions, and capital structure decisions.
  • Develop crop, procurement, and agricultural economics models including contract vs open-market scenarios.
  • Leverage AI-assisted tools to enhance financial analysis, research, modeling, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with CFO to improve financial tools and reporting processes.
  • Translate data into clear, executive-level recommendations and presentations.
  • Partner with operations and leadership to provide financial insight for performance and planning.

Our client is a growing company in the Agriculture industry who is seeking a highly analytical Senior Financial Analyst to join their finance team. This is a high-visibility opportunity for someone who enjoys financial modeling, operational analysis, strategic decision support, and working closely with executive leadership.

Reporting closely to the CFO, the Senior Financial Analyst will support a broad range of financial initiatives, including forecasting, budgeting, operational performance analysis, investor and board reporting, lender compliance, capital allocation, and transaction modeling. Because of the size and structure of the finance team, this individual will have significant ownership over their work and direct exposure to senior leadership and institutional ownership. The company is also actively incorporating AI-assisted tools and automation into its finance processes, giving this person the opportunity to help develop more efficient approaches to financial analysis, research, modeling, and executive communication. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically strong finance professional who wants their work to have a direct impact on business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build and maintain sophisticated financial models supporting operating forecasts, capital allocation decisions, and asset-level economics across agricultural operations.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting, board presentations, and investor materials for executive leadership and institutional ownership.
  • Perform detailed budget-to-actual analysisacross farming operations, production, and G&A, identifying key drivers behind financial and operational variances.
  • Develop forecasts, scenario analyses, and sensitivity models to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Monitor lender covenant compliance and provide analytical support related to credit facilities, financing requirements, and lender communications.
  • Model financial outcomes associated with potential acquisitions, asset transactions, capital investments, and capital structure alternatives.
  • Develop crop, procurement, and agricultural economics models, including contracted versus open-market purchasing strategies and harvest scenarios.
  • Utilize AI-assisted tools and emerging technologies to improve financial analysis, research, scenario modeling, reporting, and workflow efficiency.
  • Partner closely with the CFO to identify opportunities to enhance financial tools, reporting processes, and analytical capabilities.
  • Translate complex financial and operational data into clear, concise recommendations and executive-level presentations.
  • Collaborate with operations and leadership teams to provide financial insight that supports business performance and strategic planning.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field.
  • Approximately 3–6 years of experience in FP&A, financial analysis, investment analysis, corporate finance, or a similarly analytical finance role.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, forecasting, and dynamic financial models.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with the ability to interpret complex financial and operational information.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present financial analysis in a clear, executive-ready format.
  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively across finance, operations, and executive leadership.
Preferred Qualifications
  • CFA, MBA, or progress toward an advanced finance-related credential.
  • Experience within agriculture, agribusiness, food production, natural resources, real assets, or a related industry.
  • Interest in leveraging technology and automation to improve finance processes and analytical capabilities.
