Job summary

Atticus LLC is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in Cary, NC to partner with the CFO and Sr Director Finance. You will manage financial planning, reporting, and budgeting processes, turning data into clear narratives for leadership and stakeholders.

You will build models, present insights, and drive performance improvements across revenue, expenses, and cash flow while collaborating with multiple teams. This role emphasizes accuracy, communication, and analytical excellence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Minimum four years of experience in Accounting, FP&A, or related fields; chemical manufacturing preferred.
• CPA license preferred, but not required; public consulting experience desirable.
• Advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills; ability to translate data into narratives.
• Excellent interpersonal and proactive communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly, company-wide financial presentations with performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop clear PowerPoint presentations for leadership and external stakeholders.
• Translate complex financial data into a cohesive narrative explaining performance and trends.
• Support the annual budgeting process, build financial models, and prepare presentations.
• Coordinate cross-functional budget inputs and ensure proper documentation around assumptions.
• Assist in preparing bank-facing budget decks articulating assumptions and strategy.
• Provide visibility into revenue performance and identify variances; collaborate with sales to track targets.
• Track KPIs and perform deep-dive analyses on margins, costs, and operational metrics.
• Serve on the Data Analytics Team to improve visibility into financial data.
• Collaborate with finance, accounting, sales, operations, pricing & rebates, and other departments.
• Build slides, dashboards, and reports to enhance decision-making.
• Apply accounting principles to interpret results and visualize trends.
• Identify anomalies and communicate insights to leadership.
• Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses.
• Assist Finance with day-to-day operational support.

What you will do in this role

This role will work closely with the CFO and Sr Director Finance to prepare presentations highlighting company performance for Atticus. The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for gaining an understanding of the financial and non-financial metrics of Atticus that underscore Company performance. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reports, performing analysis, and taking a significant role in the annual budgeting process, including current year monthly projections. This role will also be responsible for coordinating and organizing the Annual 5-Year Plan. In order to be successful in this role, the candidate must have a strong general finance and accounting background, preferably with public consulting or accounting experience. This role requires the ability to understand data, trends, and financials and present ideas in a simple yet creative and thoughtful approach. The Senior Financial Analyst will report to the Sr. Director, Finance.

Responsibilities

• Partner directly with the CFO to prepare monthly, company‑wide financial presentations, including analysis of performance drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Develop clear, compelling PowerPoint presentations for internal leadership and external stakeholders.
• Translate complex financial data into a cohesive narrative that explains company performance, trends, and forward‑looking expectations.
• Support the annual budgeting process, including gathering assumptions, validating inputs, building financial models, and preparing presentations for company‑wide rollout.
• Work with cross‑functional teams to accumulate budget inputs and ensure proper support and documentation around assumptions.
• Assist in preparing bank‑facing budget decks that articulate assumptions, trends, and financial strategy.
• Provide visibility into revenue performance and identify variances in sales compared to target and meet with the sales team to track progress toward quarterly and annual revenue targets.
• Track key performance indicators and provide deep‑dive analysis on financial performance, including margin trends, cost drivers, and operational KPIs such as volume metrics, including calculating pounds of tech sold.
• Serve as a member of the Data Analytics Team, helping to improve visibility into financial and operational metrics.
• Work closely with teams across finance, accounting, sales, operations, pricing & rebates, and other departments to support projects, validate data, and ensure alignment.
• Build slides, dashboards, and reports that enhance decision‑making and improve communication of financial insights.
• Apply a strong understanding of accounting principles to interpret financial results and visualize trends across revenue, expenses, margins, and cash flow.
• Identify anomalies, inconsistencies, or emerging patterns in financial data and communicate insights to leadership.
• Execute special projects and ad hoc analyses as requested.
• Assist Finance team with ad‑hoc requests and other day‑to‑day operational support as needed.

Required Skills/Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Minimum of four years of relevant work experience in Accounting, FP&A, or other relevant fields is required. Experience in chemical manufacturing preferred but not required
• CPA License preferred, but not required
• Public Consulting experience desirable
• Advanced MS Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, lookups), MS PowerPoint (charts, graphs)
• Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze, simplify and communicate data
• Familiarity with accounting software (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics AX, Oracle, SAP)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and proactive communication skills along with strong initiative and balanced judgment
