Job description

Our client is seeking a highly skilled Senior Financial Analyst to join its team. The ideal candidate will become adept at forecasting long-term profits, conducting breakeven analyses for new fund launches, and managing large datasets. This role requires advanced proficiency in Excel, with the ability to model multiple funds and automate workflows using Python or VBA or AI. The Senior Financial Analyst will collaborate closely with the Deputy CFO, CFO, and Co-CEOs, delivering insightful presentations and supporting various ad-hoc financial tasks. This position will also collaborate with the Fund accounting team to create and maintain financial models for various funds.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Profit Forecasting: Develop and maintain 5-year profit forecasts to guide corporate decision-making.
• Fund Modeling: Create and maintain financial models for multiple funds, ensuring accuracy and reliability in projections.
• Breakeven Analysis: Conduct comprehensive breakeven analyses for new fund launches to assess viability and potential returns.
• Reporting: Prepare and deliver quarterly presentations to senior leadership, highlighting key financial metrics and insights.
• Data Management: Handle and analyze large datasets to extract meaningful insights to support financial models.
• Workflow Automation: Utilize Python and/or AI to automate repetitive tasks and streamline financial processes, enhancing efficiency.
• Compensation Analysis: Assist with compensation tracking and capital account PDF automation.
• Ad-Hoc Tasks: Support the Deputy CFO, CFO, and Co-CEOs with various financial projects and tasks as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
• Experience:
  • 6+ years of experience in the financial sector in a financial modeling/data analysis capacity, demonstrating a history of implementing process improvements and system enhancements.
  • FP&A experience and experience working with data teams is a must.
  • Experience at a hedge fund and/or private equity firm, with a working knowledge of fund structures, management and incentive fees, and fund-level economics, is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data visualization.
  • Familiarity with financial modeling, forecasting techniques, and metrics.
  • Beginner to intermediate skills in VBA for Excel automation are a plus.
  • Python scripting skills, and SQL knowledge are a plus.
  • Broad asset valuation or capital markets familiarity is a plus.

Compensation ranges from $120,000-$150,000 plus bonus. Final offers take into account experience, education, training, and other business and market factors. Candidates with broader or more specialized experience may be considered at a different level, which may impact the compensation package offered.
