Heartland Dental is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant to join the Accounting & Finance Department in a Hybrid role. You will be deeply involved in financial accounting, month-end close activities, and process improvements, while partnering with Operations, HR, Recruiting, and IT to strengthen controls and drive efficiency.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and 3+ years of accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of US GAAP.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with a larger GL system preferred.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure operating expense transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP and established accounting policies
• Prepare monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
• Perform fluctuation analysis of expenditures on a monthly basis
• Assist in the development of expanded month end and quarterly checklists.
• Prepare documentation of control policies and procedures for the Accounting & Finance team.
• Participate in the planning, development, and implementation of process or system improvements as they relate to Accounting and Finance team.
• Become a subject matter expert with the various financial and analytical tools utilized by the Accounting & Finance team.
• Analyze process breaks or gaps and determine best methodology for moving forward.
