Job summary

Catalyx seeks a Senior Financial Accountant to join the finance team in Newtown, PA. You will lead US entities' financial reporting, maintain strong controls, and partner with FP&A to drive accuracy and insight.

This role supports the group’s transformation, ensures US GAAP compliance, coordinates month-end closes, audits, and regulatory filings, and helps optimize processes and systems. CPA preferred but not required; multi-state tax experience is a plus.

Qualifications

  • 7-10 years of progressive experience in Finance/Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting skills.
  • Experience in tax compliance within the U.S., preferably with multi-state operations.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems, with MS Dynamics Business Central ERP preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and YTD financial statements for US entities.
  • Ensure timely month-end close and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with US GAAP and other applicable standards.
  • Support FP&A with revenue and margin analysis and cost optimization.
  • Assist with annual statutory audits and regulatory filings.
  • Contribute to budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.

Job Description

The Senior Financial Accountant will play a key role within the finance team, supporting the financial reporting and control environment of the group. The role will have primary responsibility for the U.S. entities, while also providing support to other entities across the group as required. This position will involve close collaboration with finance leadership, FP&A, and operational teams to ensure the delivery of accurate financial reporting, strong financial controls, and meaningful financial analysis to support business decision-making. The successful candidate will operate in a fast-paced international environment and will have the opportunity to contribute to finance transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Preparation of monthly and year-to-date financial statements for assigned entities within the group, primarily the U.S. entities.
  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process in accordance with internal reporting deadlines.
  • Maintain a strong financial control environment, ensuring all balance sheet accounts fully reconciled, supported, and reviewed.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, including US GAAP where relevant.
  • Assist with the analysis of financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key trends and variances.
  • Coordinate with FP&A with regards to the analysis of revenue and profit margins across the company’s product and service lines, identifying drivers of performance.
  • Review and analyze the company’s cost base, working with FP&A and department managers to understand cost drivers and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost optimization.
  • Prepare and maintain bi-weekly cash flow forecasts, providing insight and analysis to support effective treasury and working capital management.
  • Support the annual statutory audit process across group entities, ensuring timely completion and coordination with external auditors.
  • Assist with the preparation of tax and regulatory filings, including corporate tax, indirect taxes and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Support the annual budget process and periodic forecasts with FP&A.
  • Provide financial business partnering support to business leaders and department managers, helping to translate financial information into actionable insights.
  • Support and lead finance and accounting-related projects, including improvements to systems, processes, and reporting as well as benefit and 401(k) plans.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of financial reporting and analysis tools across the finance function.
  • While the role will initially focus on the U.S. entities, the successful candidate may also support other entities within the group as business needs evolve.
Requirements
  • 7-10 years of progressive experience within Finance/Accounting; CPA preferred but not required.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP and technical accounting skills as well as proven analytical skills.
  • Experience in tax compliance within the U.S., preferably with multi-state operations.
  • Experience with computerized accounting systems, with experience in MS Dynamics Business Central ERP being preferred (but not required).
  • Strong Excel skills with experience in Power Query desirable.
  • Positive, friendly demeanor with a firm customer service orientation.
  • Experience in leading teams desirable but not essential.
