Job description

Responsibilities

As a Finance Business Partner (FBP) for Cloud computing resources, you will be embedded within the Infrastructure Engineering and Strategic Sourcing teams. You will act as the financial architect behind our global compute strategy, balancing hyper-growth AI demands with rigorous cost discipline. You will drive the financial evaluation of massive cloud contracts, lead FinOps initiatives, and ensure that every dollar spent on silicon or cloud credits translates into maximum business value.

  • Commercial Modeling: Build complex TCO (Total Cost of Ownership) models to evaluate multi-year cloud commitments (e.g., AWS EDP, Azure MACC, GCP Commits).
  • Buy vs. Build Analysis: Lead financial feasibility studies comparing "On-prem/Colocation" vs. "Public Cloud" deployments, factoring in CapEx, OpEx, and depreciation cycles.
  • Vendor Negotiation: Provide data-driven leverage for procurement during negotiations with hyperscalers and GPU OEMs (NVIDIA, AMD), focusing on unit price erosion and volume discounts.
  • Cost Attribution: Drive the implementation of a robust tagging and metadata strategy to ensure 100% cost transparency across business units (e.g., LLM Training vs. Inference).
  • Unit Economics: Define and track "Unit Cost" metrics (e.g., Cost per 1k Tokens, Cost per MAU) to measure the efficiency of the engineering stack.
  • Efficiency Optimization: Partner with DevOps to optimize Commitment Coverage (RI/SP), and increase Spot Instance utilization to reduce effective hourly rates.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Own the cloud budget for global regions, managing monthly variance analysis (BvA) and articulating the "narrative" behind spend fluctuations.
  • Capacity Planning: Translate engineering roadmaps (e.g., cluster expansions) into long-range financial plans (LRP), ensuring alignment with corporate margin targets.
  • Accounting Standards: Ensure cloud contracts comply with IFRS standards and proper capitalization of R&D costs.
  • Global Tax Strategy: Collaborate with tax teams to optimize cross-border cloud service billing, considering Withholding Tax (WHT) and Transfer Pricing.

  • Capable of translating "Kubernetes clusters and GPU latency" into "EBITDA impact and ROI."
  • Proven resilience in high-growth, fast-paced environments with a collaborative and inclusive working style.
  • High levels of written and oral fluency in Mandarin are required for this role. This is essential as collaboration with China-based stakeholders is necessary to ensure local financial strategy aligns seamlessly with group objectives, manage core financial systems, and safeguard capital allocation through cross-border contract review.
