LHH is partnering with a high-growth professional services organization to hire an experienced Financial Operations Manager. This highly visible role focuses on the financial side of a project-based business and partners with operational leaders to improve forecasting, profitability, and overall business performance.

Fully remote for candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones within the United States. You will lead FP&A activities, develop KPIs, dashboards, and robust financial models, and

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience across FP&A, project finance, or financial/business operations
• Current or recent leadership experience at the Manager or Director level
• Background in engineering, architecture, design, consulting, or similar professional services
• Strong knowledge of project financials: WIP, backlog, utilization, revenue forecasting, margins, fees
• Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting
• Ability to partner directly with operational and business leaders
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

This is a highly visible role for someone who understands the financial side of a project-based professional services business and enjoys partnering with operational leaders to improve forecasting, profitability, and overall business performance.

What they’re looking for:

• 7+ years of experience across FP&A, project finance, or financial/business operations
• Current or recent leadership experience at the Manager or Director level
• Background within engineering, architecture, design, consulting, or a similar professional services environment
• Strong knowledge of project financials, including WIP, backlog, utilization, revenue forecasting, project margins, and fee structures
• Experience developing KPIs, dashboards, and management reporting
• Ability to partner directly with operational and business leaders
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field

Nice to have:

• Power BI or Tableau
• Deltek Vantagepoint/Ajera, BQE Core, or similar platforms
• ASC 606 knowledge within a project-based environment
• Experience supporting a rapidly growing organization
• Exposure to AI-enabled finance, reporting, or analytics tools

Location: Fully remote for candidates in the Eastern or Central time zones.
