Job summary

Wilton Re in Norwalk, CT is seeking an experienced AVP/VP, Finance & Investments Counsel to support investment, finance and capital management initiatives. This full-time role reports to the Group Chief Legal Officer and offers a hybrid work structure with occasional travel to the Norwalk office.

The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of legal experience in investments and asset management, a JD and U.S. Bar admission, and strong communication and project management skills to advise senior

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of legal experience with a focus on investments, asset management, and/or state insurance matters.
• JD from ABA accredited law school and Bar admission in good standing.
• Strong communication and project management skills; ability to work autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead legal documentation for investment management matters (e.g., IMAs, advisory agreements, custodial arrangements, asset transfer and servicing agreements).
• Draft, review and negotiate documentation with counterparties and coordinate with senior management on business risks.
• Monitor and interpret developments in laws and regulations related to insurance assets, capital management and financial reporting.
• Provide legal support for hedging, derivative strategies, and ISDA documentation; advise on regulatory compliance.
• Support capital/balance sheet management activities including financing and distributions; assist treasury and investment teams.
• Assist CFO and Treasury/Investment teams in banking relationships and regulatory filings.
• Prepare written and oral presentations for senior management.
