Job summary

The National Basketball Association (NBA) seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to coordinate financial reporting and analytics for the WNBA teams, serving as a primary contact for team financial representatives. You will review team projections, assist with audits, perform variance analyses, support union reporting, and present insights to WNBA Finance leadership, collaborating across departments.

This role also leads process improvements and AI initiatives to drive efficiency in routine tasks

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field.
• CPA required.
• Minimum of 4–5 years of experience in public accounting.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the team audit process, liaising between team financial representatives and external auditors.
• Collect team projections, vet information, perform variance analysis, ensure reporting consistency.
• Research and prepare analyses for key audit matters and present recommendations to leadership.
• Research accounting guidance to support teams.
• Lead team meetings and inquire about issues identified in the vetting process.
• Run benchmarking analyses on projection submissions and provide insights.
• Serve as a liaison for league deliverables like team billing and communications.
• Collaborate with WNBA Team Finance on projections and deliverables.
• Lead process improvements and AI initiatives to drive efficiency.
