Habitat for Humanity International seeks a Financial Administrator to oversee financial functions including budgeting, reporting, and compliance. The successful candidate will maintain financial records, enhance processes, and support internal teams to ensure financial accuracy while aligning with our mission-driven values.
This critical role is responsible for overseeing a wide range of financial functions, including record keeping, budgeting, financial reporting, and cash management. The successful candidate will ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal procedures while working collaboratively across departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
Responsibilities:
* Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable/receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger entries.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the creation and monitoring of budgets and forecasts; track actual performance against targets.
* Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial reports and statements for internal and external stakeholders.
* Cash Management: Oversee daily cash flow operations, process payments, and ensure liquidity needs are met.
* Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with applicable financial regulations, internal controls, and accounting standards.
* Payroll Processing: Assist with timely and accurate payroll administration.
* Tax Preparation and Audit Support: Collaborate closely with the outside firm to provide all needed information for the successful completion of annual audit and tax return. Support the preparation of tax returns and relevant documentation.
* Process Improvement: Identify and implement efficiencies and improvements in financial procedures.
* Stakeholder Management: Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external partners.
* System Maintenance: Update and maintain financial systems and databases.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
* Motivation and ability to learn all aspects of the Habitat for Humanity business model.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of explaining financial concepts clearly.
* Proficiency in accounting and financial software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Exceptional organizational and time management abilities.
* Proven experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
* Solid understanding of GAAP and other relevant accounting principles.
* Knowledge of applicable financial regulations and compliance standards.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
Education:
* Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field or equivalent work experience preferred.
* Master’s Degree in related field or Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) is a plus.
* Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial administration.
* Prior work with non-profit accounting is a plus but not required.
