Job summary

Archer is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in San Jose, CA to own process design and scale-up for advanced joining lines. You will specify, design, and implement equipment and control systems behind critical joints while partnering with design, quality, and materials teams to scale from development to high-reliability production.

You will lead DF M efforts, develop SOPs and control plans, and drive experiments for validation and continuous improvement in a safety-sensitive aerospace

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, or related engineering field.
• 2+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a specialized, precision-process environment.
• Strong CAD skills and ability to read and create mechanical drawings.
• Experience with joining processes and process control.
• Ability to diagnose root causes and implement corrective actions.

Responsibilities

• Lead process design and scale-up for joining projects from development through production ramp.
• Commission new equipment and develop SOPs, work instructions, and control plans.
• Drive DF M for joining processes in collaboration with Product Design to optimize producibility, cost, and quality.
• Specify and validate equipment for laser systems, automation, vision systems, and tooling.
• Develop equipment specs, tooling needs, and control strategies for critical parameters.
• Partner with process engineers and vendors to define inputs/outputs and validate performance.
• Design and run experiments to support process validation and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with Design, Manufacturing, and Quality to resolve process-equipment integration challenges.
