Job summary

Bechtel seeks a Field Welding Program Lead for the Thacker Pass project in Nevada. The role will guide a workforce services team, design and implement welding processes, and drive efficiency through innovation while ensuring compliance with project codes and safety standards.

You will collaborate with discipline leads, manage subcontractors, and optimize welding operations on site in a high‑demand environment. A strong background in welding and project execution is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field; relevant professional certification a plus.
10–17 years of relevant experience in welding/completion environments or equivalent seniority.
Experience leading welding teams and working with subcontractors to meet code and project requirements.

Responsibilities

Implements, maintains and manages the Field Welding program.
Provides oversight and technical direction to subordinates and subcontractors.
Manages the subcontractor welding program and provides welding engineering support for construction to meet codes and JV procedures.
Provides technical expertise for ASME, API, and AWS welding standards and procedures.
Coordinates with Discipline Superintendents and Lead Field Welding Engineer to validate manpower and welder qualification requirements.
Directs Welding Foremen and crews to ensure first-time quality with minimal rework.
Reviews weekly work plans with discipline superintendents to ensure welder resources meet planned scopes.
Elevates scheduling concerns to construction management as needed.
