Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Utah is seeking a Field Technician to support inspection, maintenance, transport, and on-site assembly of high-value weapons and ground support equipment. The role operates under strict procedures with government and contractor oversight.

You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, maintain inventory logs, and ensure safety and compliance while working with site teams across customer locations. Clearances required, travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 6 years of experience.
• 6 years of hands-on experience installing, maintaining, or troubleshooting electronic/mechanical systems or field equipment.
• Mechanical and/or electronic aptitude with prior hands-on maintenance experience (civilian equivalents to Air Force 2W2X1 or 2M0XX preferred).
• Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills; ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for customer interaction and reporting.
• Ability to travel frequently and work at customer sites; flexible schedule.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in varied environmental conditions.
• US DOD Secret Security Clearance to start with ability to attain Top Secret.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, assemble, disassemble, and maintain weapons systems components and related equipment per technical orders and work packages.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and structural systems; perform mechanical alignments and basic electronic troubleshooting.
• Maintain precise inventory accountability of assets, components, and tools; update equipment logs and turnover documentation.
• Follow written procedures with strict adherence to safety, quality, and technical orders.
• Support secure transport and timely delivery of equipment to offsite locations; coordinate vehicle and tool handling.
• Participate in peer reviews and continuous improvement to enhance usability and compliance.
• Coordinate with facilities, program managers, and contracting teams for site surveys, staging, and sustainment activities.
