Job summary

TransCore ITS, LLC in Bonifay, FL is seeking a Lead Technician to supervise field crews and oversee installation of ITS field devices, communications systems, and traffic signal systems. You will perform on-site installation of electronic, electromechanical, and low-voltage equipment, and coordinate with clients to determine optimal installation methods.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting, documenting activities, and preparing labor/materials proposals.

Qualifications

• Typically requires 8 years of related experience.
• Minimum of two years of experience operating heavy equipment.
• Minimum of two years of experience leading or managing field crews.
• Must successfully complete all required background and drug screenings initiated by TransCore.
• Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) and SLERS background screenings when required.
• Communications construction experience.
• Energetic and self-motivated.
• Experience operating bucket trucks and working at heights 40–120 feet.
• Experience with outside plant fiber optic installation.
• Knowledge of FDOT Standard Specifications and Design Standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs equipment installation, troubleshooting, and repair.
• Generates documentation supporting installation activities.
• Generates proposals detailing time, labor, and materials required.
• Works closely with customers to determine solutions.
• Assists with training of technicians on newly installed equipment.
• Prepares schematics and procedures for new equipment.
• Coordinates subcontractors assisting with project execution.
• Supervises crews performing assigned work.
• Provides support to installation technicians.
• Operates company vehicles and equipment.
• Drives locally and long distances to project sites.
